ARSIS: Touring Musicians Revealed
September 23, 2011Guitarist/vocalist Jim Malone of Virginia-based melodic tech death metallers ARSIS will be forced to sit out the band's "Frets Of Fury" tour with FIREWIND, WHITE WIZARD and NIGHTRAGE in October "due to professional and personal commitments." Filling in for him during the trek will be Mike Parks on vocals and Brandon Ellis on guitar.
Commented the group: "Mike Parks is the obvious choice as he has helped us out in the past when Malone lost his voice, and was actually the singer of the band that became ARSIS. He is a longtime friend and an extremely strong singer, and we're happy to have him with us."
Regarding Ellis' addition to ARSIS' touring lineup, the band said, "This is something incredibly special. He is a young guy who plays with the kind of maturity that has become rare in the modern metal and shred scene. His presence will take the guitar chops in ARSIS to a new high."

ARSIS' latest album, "Starve For The Devil", sold 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at No. 13 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Starve For The Devil" was released in North America on February 9, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album was recorded at Planet Z Studios in Hadley, Massachusetts with producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with MUNICIPAL WASTE, AGNOSTIC FRONT and HATEBREED, among others.
